At Northeast Eye Care, we are committed to providing our patients with exceptional, personalized eye care in a welcoming and comfortable environment. From routine eye exams and comprehensive vision evaluations to ongoing eye health care, our goal is to help you see clearly and maintain healthy vision for years to come.

Our History

Northeast Eye Care has proudly served the local community for many years. In 2006, Dr. Susan Fischer purchased Northeast Eye Care, which was then located in North Hampton, New Hampshire. In 2008, Dr. Fischer moved the practice to Deerfield, New Hampshire, where it was located next door to our current location at Commerce Corners.

As the practice continued to grow, Dr. Fischer recognized the need for additional space. She purchased and renovated 45 North Road, and Northeast Eye Care moved to its current location at the end of 2019. The new space allowed us to expand our services and provide our patients with an even more comfortable and well-equipped environment.

Looking Toward the Future

We are excited to welcome Dr. Shirlie Dowd, who joined Northeast Eye Care in May 2026. As of September 1, 2026, Dr. Dowd will become the new owner of Northeast Eye Care, continuing the practice's tradition of personalized, high-quality eye care.

Dr. Fischer will remain an important part of Northeast Eye Care and will continue seeing her current patients on Friday mornings. This transition allows us to preserve the relationships and continuity of care that our patients value while welcoming a new generation of leadership to the practice.

Our office is equipped with a full range of modern optical and diagnostic equipment to support comprehensive eye care and help ensure that every patient receives the quality care they have come to expect.
